Palmares Golf Course

One of the most popular courses on the west side of the Algarve. Located just outside of the rapidly growing city of Lagos, Palmares Golf course takes pride of it high point of location and this is the first of it's many fine attributes that you have no problem noticing when you arrive.
Standing on the First tee, the overwhelming view of the Atlantic and the bay of Lagos put you at ease but don't be lulled into a trance, the first shot is one that requires attention in order to keep the ball in play.
Going out, the course takes you alongside the beach, where the waves softly breaking on the shore sooth your mind and some may even you were, especially when confronted with the 5th Hole.
Once moving onto the Back Nine which start of with a 165m Par-3 which, on a windy day can always create havoc. You are later on blessed once more with another astonishing view of the ocean before you then have to battle to finish the round as you head down the 17th having accomplished a couple of long holes before that. This Par-5, even being a medium 458m, leaves all who play it wanting to attempt the scrub land shot on the second to leave you on for a definite birdie. Be sure to keep this in mind when you go for it, and don't say you weren't warned!
A must is the 19th Hole, sitting outside on the patio, again being able to appreciate the fantastic views and if you are lucky, an excellent sun set.
